How to Ask ‘Where Is It?’ in Chinese
Ask where something is and understand a basic location answer with 在.
Quick answer
Use thing + 在哪儿？to ask where it is. Answer with thing + 在 + location.
洗手间在哪儿？
Where is the restroom?

Common mistake
Using 在 as ‘is’ and keeping English order: 哪儿在洗手间？ does not work. Name the thing first, then ask 在哪儿
