How to Ask ‘How Much Is This?’ in Chinese
Ask the price of this or that, then say which item you want.
Quick answer
Use 这个多少钱
？for ‘How much is this?’ and 那个多少钱
？for ‘How much is that?’
这个多少钱？
How much is this?
Hear the phrase, then repeat it aloud.
When to use it
Use it while pointing to or holding an item. Replace 这个
with 那个
for something farther away.
Common mistake
Keep 多少钱
together as the price question. Do not translate English word order directly.

那个多少钱？ How much is that?
我要这个。 I want this one.
Practise the question while pointing to different objects around you. A physical action makes the difference between 这 and 那 easier to remember.
