How to Order Tea in Chinese

Use a short, realistic dialogue to ask what someone wants and order tea.

Quick answer

Say 我想喝茶 for ‘I’d like tea’, then close politely with 谢谢.

我想喝茶。
wǒ xiǎng hē chá.
I’d like to drink tea.

Hear the phrase, then repeat it aloud.

When to use it

Use this pattern when someone asks what you would like to drink. Replace with another drink you know.

Common mistake

Do not omit the verb when you are saying you want to drink something.

Practise aloud

Read each conversation from top to bottom.

nǐ xiǎng hē shénme? 你想喝什么? What would you like to drink?
wǒ xiǎng hē chá. 我想喝茶。 I’d like to drink tea.
hǎo de. 好的。 Okay.
xièxie. 谢谢。 Thank you.

Repeat the dialogue with water, coffee, or another drink. The goal is to reuse the pattern, not memorise one fixed answer.
